How do you install 72.5mm Insulated Plasterboard?

72.5mm Insulated Plasterboard can be easily installed by fixing timber battens around the ceiling and floor levels of the walls and horizontally at 600mm apart. Be sure to fit the battens around openings and sockets. The boards can then be fixed onto the timber, lightly butting two sheets at the centre of the battens, and fitting fixings 10mm from the boards edge. Either drywall screws can be used at 300mm centres or large headed galvanised clout nails at 150mm centres. Once all the boards are fixed to the battens, any tape, beading, filler, adhesive, and decorative materials can be applied.

What is thermal resistance?

Thermal resistance is the measurement of temperature between two faces of material and the rate heat flows between the two faces per unit area. Thermal resistance determines the heat insulation property of a textile material. The higher the thermal resistance, the lower is the heat loss. For example, if the material is thicker the rate in which thermal conductivity travels from one side of the materials to other is larger and less heat is lost.

How do you cut insulated plasterboard?

The best and easiest way to cut insulated plasterboard is to measure and mark the board to size and then scored the insulation side, cutting through to the paper back of the plasterboard with a sharp knife, snap the board over a hard edge and score the other side. A fine-toothed saw can also be used to cut the boards.
