An additional layer of plaster can be applied to create a seamless finish prior to decorating, a mist coat or sealant coat should also be considered prior to painting.

Tapered Edge Plasterboards

The tapered edge board angles of at the edge and when butted together with another board forms a minor groove. This groove is designed to be filled using joint filler or jointing compound. This technique will create the ultimate smooth and seamless finish ready for decorating.

Squared Edge Plasterboards

The squared edge has a uniform straight edge with a continuous level thickness maintained across the entire board. When the panels come together, they often create a butt joint. The butt joint can sometime protrude slightly once filled; therefore, these panels are favoured in ceiling applications as the joints are flusher.
