150mm K103
The K103 Kingspan Kooltherm floor insulation is designed for installation within a variety of floor application methods. The K103 insulation boards are made of a rigid fibre-free phenolic core with glass tissue facings bonded on each side of the K103 boards.
Kooltherm K103 Application methods:
- Solid concrete floor applications
- Below floor screed
- Above floor joists in a suspended timber floor
- Below floor joists in suspended timber floor
- Below floor slabs
These application methods can be applied to new builds, renovations, and extensions with residential and commercial buildings.
K103 Key Features
The K103 boards are 2.4m x 1.2m and available in thicknesses from 25mm to 150mm. See further information including key features below:
- Impressive thermal conductivity of just 0.019W/mK
- Length of 2400mm and width of 1200mm
- Thicknesses are available in a wide variety and can be doubled if required
- Lower-lambda thermoset phenolic core
- Lightweight and easy to transport and install

- Reduces heat loss and improves monthly energy bills
- Compression strength exceeds 120kPa at 10% compression
- Non-deleterious material which means it is non-hazardous to health
- K103 will last for the entire lifespan of the building
- Manufactured with a blowing agent that has zero ODP and low GWP
- Can be cut to the required size
When cutting K103 firstly measure and mark the dimensions of the applications site onto the board. Use a shape blade to score one side of the board. Then, snap the board over a hard edge on the opposite side. Alternatively, you can use a fine-toothed saw by placing the board on a raised surface, so the saw has space to run through the insulation board.
Is K103 energy efficient?
K103 Kooltherm will create a more energy efficient environment. When heat from internal properties escapes from gaps within the thermal envelope, it releases hot air into the external environment and will have a negative effect on global warming. High quality insulation materials when installed and maintained correctly will prevent heat escaping the building and therefore reduce the effects on global warming, creating a more energy efficient space.
