Kooltherm K103 is a premium performance insulation material designed for the installation of floors.
The K103 insulation board is made up of a high-quality lower-lambda rigid thermoset phenolic core with glass tissue-based facings bonded to each side during manufacturing. This product is 2400mm by 1200mm and available in thicknesses between 25mm and 150mm. This Kooltherm floor insulation has an incredible thermal conductivity of just 0.019W/mK.
The Kingspan K103 can be installed within solid concrete floor applications, below floor screed, below floor joists in a suspended timber floor, above floor joists in a suspended timber floor and below floor slabs and is also ideal for both new builds and renovation projects as well as extensions. The product is perfect for floor applications due to its compressive strength which exceeds 120kPa at 10% compression. K103 is also compatible with underfloor heating.
Kingspan is committed to manufacturing high-quality insulation materials whilst withholding their long-term commitment to sustainability. The K103 insulation will prevent heat levels from escaping the property through cavities within the floor space, which will save money on energy bills due to less energy and gas waste. This improves the sustainability of your residential or commercial building space. Not only will this improve energy efficiency and reduce monthly bills, but it will also create an environment that is temperature controlled with cooler summers and warmer winters.
The Kingspan K103 is easy to cut simply by using a fine-toothed saw or sharp blade including a utility knife or Stanley blade. When the boards have been measured and marked to size, they can be scored on one size and snapped or sawed through entirely.
When storing K103 floorboards, ensure the boards are stacked flat raised from the floor in an environment where the boards are protected from the elements. Do not store heavy equipment on the boards or walk on the boards prior to installation to avoid damage to the boards core.
