Vapour plasterboards or vapour panels, are made up of a high-performing gypsum core with quality paper facings and metallised polyester foil laminated on one side. This vapour board creates a highly effective vapour barrier to limit moisture diffusion. The ideal product for lining walls and roofs.
Vapour Plasterboard Application Methods:
These application methods can be applied to new builds, renovations, and extensions within residential and commercial buildings.
The foil backed plasterboards are available in a board size of 2400mm by 1200mm and in thicknesses of 12.5mm and 15mm. See further information including key features below:
Vapour panels are designed for use in areas where warm and cold elements of the ceilings and walls join. It also provides a layer of water vapour control as well as a plasterboard lining in one application, making this product a 3-in-1. Common areas for foil-backed plasterboards include walls that are at risk of damp and mould, and pitched roofs and ceilings that may have more exposure to the elements such as rain. With foil plasterboards, if a leak should happen it will not penetrate the plasterboard or cause damage to the building’s interior.
Knauf vapour panels are available in thicknesses of 12.5mm and 15mm. The panels are suitable for partitions, linings, and ceilings and areas that require a vapour barrier to limit moisture diffusion. Multiple layers can be applied for added performance. Knauf vapour boards will help to protect the buildings envelope from damage caused by moisture and water.
Siniat Vapour Board
Siniat Gtec vapour boards have an additional vapour control layer and are available in thicknesses of 12.5mm and 15mm. The board itself has the same properties as a standard plasterboard with the only difference being the additional silver metallic polyester film back liner which enhances the vapour resistance of the product.
