110mm Kingspan Thermapitch TP10

  • 110mm TP10 boards are one of the most used products within the construction industry and is well-known for the incredible quality
  • The TP10 insulation boards have a straight edge to ensure boards can be tightly butted together to avoid thermal bridging
  • The 110mm board is commonly used for its thinner size, the 110mm can be installed within spaces that contain a smaller cavity which ensures you make the most of you working and living space
  • The low emissivity foil facings are on each side of the board. This reflective, low emissivity surface improves the thermal resistance of any unventilated cavity adjacent to the board
  • Kingspan TP10 means you can improve the thermal quality within the internal structure of the building’s envelope. The boards are also unaffected by air filtration
  • TP10 insulation Boards are lightweight making them super easy to handle, cut, and install. This product will make a project turnaround times quicker than ever
  • This board offers an incredible thermal conductivity of just 0.022W/mK – which for those who don’t know, means very small amount of heat can pass through the board, keeping the heat inside your home or office!
  • Whilst staying warm in the winter and cool in the summer, you’re also providing an energy efficient environment that contributes to the reduction of climate change
  • While you think it stops at helping the environment, with less heat escaping, Kingspan TP10 boards can also save you money on your energy bills
  • All Cavity boards are CFC, HCFC and Formaldehyde Free with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and low global warming potential (GWP)
  • Kingspan Thermapitch TP10 resists attack by mould and microbial growth, and do not provide any food value to vermin, helping to maintain the condition of the buildings structure

How are Kingspan Thermapitch TP10 insulation boards installed in between rafters in a pitched roof?

  1. Measure the section that you are fitting the insulation into. Older properties can have uneven and inconsistent widths between the rafters in the roof. Mark the insulation to match the section you are filling and cut to size using a hand saw or a sharp knife. Using a table and a piece of wood to hold the material in place ensuring a straight cut can be a helpful method.
  2. Slot the insulation into the rafters and ensure the sheet of insulation is butted with the existing sheets of insulation. Ensure the product is snug but not pushing against the rafters. Running a sharp knife or saw down each side of the fitted insulation can prevent the fit from being too compact. A flat block of wood can be used to pat against the rafters to ensure the insulation is properly in place and secure.
  3. A bit of expanding foam can be used to fill any gap in uneven rafters. Measure the rafters in order to lay another sheet of insulation board vertically across the horizontal insulation. Fasten suspension rods spaced 600mm apart to the rafters using a screwdriver.
  4. Lay another sheet of insulation on the suspension rods vertically. Immediately fasten the suspension clips on to the suspension rods.Attach metal furring profiles to the suspension clips and secure them with double-sided aluminum tape.
  5. Peel the back of the tap and apply a vapor control layer across the metal profiles. Add another layer of tape around all edges including the roof and floor and spaces between layers.
  6. The next step is to fit the plasterboard. Another option is to apply insulated plasterboard to save money and time.

Note –

A face mask or protective clothing is recommended when cutting insulation due to the fibres produced when cutting which can sting the eyes and irritate the skin.

Ensure the wall is sound, secure, free from any contaminants, and dry.

Ensure accurate trimming to achieve close joints and continuous insulation

The insulation should start from the internal corner of the roof.

How do you cut insulation boards?

The best and easiest way to cut cavity wall boards is to measure and mark the board to size and then score the insulation with a sharp knife, snap the board over a hard edge and score the other side. A fine-toothed saw can also be used to cut the boards. Ensure the boards are marked and measured to size.

What size do you need?

The size you need will depend on the space being insulated. Thicker insulation is always the best option to achieve the best thermal conductivity possible however a thinner board will also improve the thermal conductivity. This decision is really based on how much space you want to save, and if the board meets the building regulations.

Can Kingspan TP10 be used for floor insulation?

Kingspan TP10, TF70 and TW55 PIR Boards. They are an ideal residential and commercial insulation product for use in wall insulation, floor insulation, and in pitched roof and ceilings insulation.

Is there an alternative to TP10?

The alternative to TP10 is the Celotex ranges TB4000, GA4000, and XR4000. These boards provide the same sizes and thicknesses as TP10 and the same thermal conductivity of 0.022W/mK. Kingspan is the most expensive due to the unbeatable quality of the board.
